Data Views: Step 1 - Introduction


A Data View is a pre-defined collection of indicators targeting a specific user requirement or task. Data Views can be displayed either as tables or interactive atlases - example screens are shown below.

Start selecting your Data Views

Table View: Provides a table view of all indicators allowing you to mix and match specific indicators of interest, sort them by a specific indicator and download either the current table view or all indicators in the Data View in different formats.

Single Map View: Provides an interactive view containing a thematic map, table and chart allowing you to understand the spatial patterns and temporal trends for a specific indicator of interest.

Double Map View: Provides an interactive view containing two thematic maps allowing you to compare patterns and corresponding relationships between two indicators for the same area type.

Area Profile View: Provides an interactive view allowing users to select an area on a map to chart of cross-section of selected key indicators for to get an 'at a glance' assessment of assess 'current state' in comparison to a local, regional or national comparison.

To view interactive atlases you may need to add support for Flash content to your Internet browser. The best way to check this is by clicking on an atlas icon from the Data Views table on the next page. If you do not get an atlas appearing then the most likely cause of the problem is that you do not have the Adobe Flash Player (ver.8 or higher) installed.

You can test your browser support for Flash by clicking on the Adobe Flash version test page.

If you need to install the free Adobe Flash Player 'plug-in' then you can download it from the Adobe web site. If you have any problems doing this please read the Help associated with this page.
