5.3. Data View Table

The leftmost column of the table lists area names. If the table contains comparison areas, these will be displayed at the foot of the table in italics. Totals may also be displayed at the foot of the table if the indicator values being viewed are counts. The top two rows of the table display the theme and indicator/date names for the data being displayed. Click an indicator name to sort data values in ascending or descending order. Click the 'Notes' icon next to the indicator name to view metadata for the indicator.

Use the drop down lists above the table to change the data displayed in the table. To retain existing indicators/dates you should check the box(es) in the third row of the table. A metadata summary for the data view and the indicators it contains (or a link to a metadata summary) may be available below the table.

In order to use the table in, for example, a Word document the process is as follows:

  • Use the mouse to select the table. Make sure you select to a point below the table to ensure that you capture it in its entirety.

  • Copy your selection by using either CTRL-C, or the Copy option from the Edit menu, or right-clicking and choosing Copy from the menu.

  • Paste the result into your document by selecting the place you wish to add the profile and using either CTRL-V, or the Paste option from the Edit menu, or right-clicking and choosing Paste from the menu.

You can use the XML (Extensible Markup Language) and CSV (Comma Separated Values) icons to export data from this page. From left to right, the icons do the following:

  • Export the data in the table in XML format

  • Export the data in the table in CSV format

  • Export the data for the entire data view in XML format

  • Export the data for the entire data view in CSV format

The exported CSV files can be opened in Excel for further data analysis or reporting. The exported XML files can be used with your own stand-alone InstantAtlas interactive atlases or any other application of your choice.

You can use the 'Back' icon to return to the previous page.
